Henson Venture Partners is the public-facing brand of Ember Venture Capital, our registered investment entity. We write first checks of $10K to $500K into founder-led software companies that already have revenue.

What we invest in

The industry is open. The revenue engine is not. Every company we back has a revenue-generating SaaS or AI component at the core of the business, not bolted on. A gut health company with real SaaS revenue is a fit. A software company with no revenue is not.

We have backed cloud infrastructure, MSP software, legal AI, healthcare, consumer marketplaces and vertical SaaS. We do not invest in physical products, CPG or services businesses.

How we invest

Pre-seed is our core: the first check, usually before anyone else. We lead and co-lead pre-seed and seed rounds, which is unusual for a fund writing first checks. If you have revenue and cannot find a lead, that is the situation we are built for. We look at Series A selectively, for companies we know or where the software engine is proven and the round is priced sensibly. At seed we take observer rights, not board seats.

We work alongside founders on valuation and fundraising strategy, investor, customer and partner introductions, go-to-market and early customer acquisition, team building, and ongoing coaching.

Founders with clarity of thought, resilience, a deep understanding of their market, and the ability to execute. You do not need a warm introduction. We are based in New York City and invest across the United States and internationally.

Who we are

Henson Venture Partners was founded by Gregory Scott Henson, a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and operator with more than two decades of experience building and scaling technology companies. He has founded and scaled 20 companies, backed more than 50 early-stage startups, and played a key role in growing one of the largest Microsoft partner organizations in the world, operating across the U.S., Europe, the Middle East and Latin America.
